theIJS.com is the website for the International Journal of Surgery (IJS) containing abstracts from the latest issue as well as exclusive articles and audio/visual content.  It is funded and maintained by Surgical Associates Ltd.  The information found on the website is designed to support, not to replace the relationship between patient/physician.

theijs.com is divided into the following sections:

The International Journal of Surgery (IJS) and theijs.com are owned by Surgical Associates Ltd, a privately owned company established in 2003.  The IJS is published by Elsevier Ltd, publishers of the Lancet.  Surgical Associates Ltd also manages the Wikisurgery site, a dedicated open-platform surgical encyclopedia. 

The International Journal of Surgery is a peer-reviewed international journal which aims to promote continued developments in surgery by the publication of critically reviewed, carefully selected and contemporary knowledge about advances in clinical surgery, the surgical sciences and surgical education. The Journal aims to develop and uphold standards in research, provide a focus for evidence-based medicine and an opportunity for the critical appraisal of cutting-edge original research.  The Journal is aimed at Surgeons (SHO to Consultant); Academic Surgeons and those working in Surgical Research (Fellows and Professors) from across the surgical specialties.
