“Publishing in the International Journal Surgery has worked well for us…..It has been a pleasure to work with you and get our research story told to a wide audience in a very short time - and with high professional quality. That publicity was unanticipated and welcomed by me and my coauthors…..My expectations of publishing have risen in the past year. Now I would hesitative before submitting a paper to an old-style journal. Publications in Journal of Clinical Oncology were very long to print - as one recent example. IJS was the best we have seen.” Lecturer in Surgery, Harvard Medical School/Children’s Hospital, Boston, USA.
"I have received two issues. Both have good quality…..I’ll definitely submit articles to the Journal and shall also encourage our domestic as well as international colleagues to do so." Professor of Plastic Surgery, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taiwan Dean, Medical College, Chang Gung University, Taiwan
“I am delighted in receiving the International Journal of Surgery and am especially impressed by it’s high scientific/educational level.....I am going to contribute to the contents of the Journal, two articles are in preparation and will be ready beginning of Jan.....best wishes of further success for the whole Board” Head, Department of Replantation, Hand and General Surgery, St. Hedwig Hospital in Trzebnica, Poland
“I can't but agree with you regarding the IJS being the best forum for such reports. Be assured that after a lot of journal-search, I narrowed down to only two journals.. one was the IJS and the other was BMJ. BMJ, of course, being exclusively confined to the medical issues, I had to take up IJS as the only source.“ Consultant Surgeon, RMV Hospital, Bangalore, India
The International Journal of Surgery has the mission to fulfill an empty space left by the old-style journals and that is “to be the journal for the general surgeon”. I think that so far IJS has succeeded with this. The other goal is “to be an international journal” and submissions from over 40 countries demonstrate a wide audience and great expectative to publish in a non-exclusive journal accessible for all countries around the world. I always consider IJS as my first choice when thinking on submitting an article.
Marcelo A. Beltrán, MD Digestive Surgeon, Hospital de Ovalle, IV Región , Chile
